Informal listening session on a proposed plan by the EPA to cut greenhouse gases from existing power plants that generate electricity from fossil fuels. Once finalized, this rule will require the integrated efforts of DNREC, other state agencies, the regulated community, and the public. Prior to taking any formal action, DNREC is seeking general input from the public on the best way for the State to implement EPA's plan as currently proposed.
EPA issued proposed emissions guidelines for the control CO2 from existing power plants (79 FR 34830) and for modified and reconstructed power plants (79 FR 34960) on June 18, 2014. The EPA comment period for these proposals is open, and will close on December 1. Provide written comments to EPA follow the detailed information provided on the first page of the preamble to the proposal. There is no formal DNREC proposal available for comment at this time. Also note that DNREC is gathering input from the public to help inform DNRECâ€™s review of EPAâ€™s proposed rule.
