Formation of a Tax Lagoon
RE: Formation of a Tax Lagoon Dear Property Owner(s): Land that you own is located in, adjacent to and/or has deeded access to the boat ramp in the community known as Dogwood Acres, near Dagsboro, in Sussex County, Delaware. Landowners in the area have petitioned for formation of the Dogwood Acres Tax Lagoon per Delaware Code, Title 7, Chapter 43. The tax lagoon has been petitioned for formation in order to establish a formal process to undertake works of improvement (projects) within the lagoon system, including dredging, bank stabilization and sedimentation reduction. As part of this process, the landowners within the boundaries of the tax lagoon will be assessed a lagoon maintenance tax and be expected to pay 100 percent of the cost of construction and maintenance for such projects. There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, October 15, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., to discuss the steps necessary for the formation of the Dogwood Acres Tax Lagoon and how it will affect you. The meeting will be held at the old Dagsboro Fire Department located at 31818 Waples Avenue, Dagsboro, Delaware 19939. You are strongly urged to attend this meeting. Please contact Chuck Williams at (302) 739-9921 in advance should you have any questions or require additional information. Sincerely, Charles E. Williams, II Planner IV
