The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) would like to invite residents from in and around Newark and all other interested parties to a public workshop to discuss the proposed separated bikeway facility, roadway overlay, and reconstruction project on Delaware Avenue from Orchard Road to Library Avenue in Newark.
A separated bikeway is a one-way or two-way bike lane which physically separates bicyclists from sidewalks and traffic using curbing, striping, and/or flexible posts. The purpose of the workshop is to present details for the proposed improvements and to solicit feedback from the public. Construction is expected to begin in early 2021. The public workshop will be held at the Newark Free Library from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, August 13, 2018. Interested persons are invited to express their views either online or in writing, giving reasons for support or opposition to the project. Comments will be received during the workshop or can be mailed to DelDOT Community Relations, P.O. Box 778, Dover, DE 19903 or emailed to email@example.com.
