The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) will hold a comment session on October 11, 2018 to allow Delawareans to voice their views on the EPAs proposal to REPLACE the Clean Power Plan with the Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) rule.
As the lowest lying state in the nation, Delaware is witnessing first-hand the impacts of climate change. Delaware and the nation will be impacted by EPAs action or inaction. EPA has thus far intends to hold a single public hearing in Chicago, IL on October 1, 2018. We are holding this session in response to EPAs refusal to provide a venue to accommodate Delawareans and others along the east coast to voice their opinions. These comments will be submitted in the form of a transcript on behalf of the participants to EPAs federal docket EPA-HQ-OAR-2017-0355. Affordable Clean Energy Rule Information: On August 21, 2018, the EPA proposed the Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) rule which would establish emission guidelines for states to develop plans to address greenhouse gas emissions from existing coal-fired power plants.
