Meeting of the Coastal Zone Conversion Permit Act (CZCPA) Environmental Impact Work Group to discuss potential regulatory approaches to defining environmental impacts for CZCPA permits.
The CZCPA Regulatory Advisory Committee (RAC) is charged with providing recommendations to DNREC on the development of regulations to implement a new permit process that would allow for additional or alternative heavy industry use or a bulk product transfer facility on 14 existing heavy industry use sites within Delaware's Coastal Zone. DNREC and the RAC further established Work Groups to provide technical support on four topic areas addressed in the CZCPA: Economic Effect, Environmental Impact, Risk Evaluation and Financial Assurance, and Offsets. Each Work Group consists of subject matter experts and professionals with experience in the Groups focus area. While the RAC is charged with providing recommendations to DNREC on the development of new regulations, the Work Groups are charged with assisting the RAC by providing input on what may be technically feasible to include in RAC recommendations, as it relates to the four focus areas.
